Operation Paperclip Conspiracy Podcasts | CIA Nazi Germany Collaboration

Operation Paperclip was a secret program conducted by the United States government in the aftermath of World War II. Its objective was to recruit and bring to the United States many of the top German scientists and engineers who had worked on Nazi weapons projects. The program began in 1945 and lasted until 1959, and during that time more than 1,600 German scientists, engineers, and technicians were brought to the United States. The recruits included individuals who had worked on rocket technology, jet propulsion, and other advanced weapons systems. The goal was to tap into the knowledge and expertise of these scientists and engineers, and to prevent them from being recruited by the Soviet Union. The program was controversial because many of the individuals who were recruited had been active members of the Nazi Party, and some had even been involved in war crimes. Nevertheless, the program was seen as a way to gain a technological advantage over the Soviet Union during the Cold War.
