The fraud of “Lordship Salvation”

If you’ve been in church for any length of time, you’ve probably heard teaching on “Lordship Salvation.” It’s the idea that you may have wanted Jesus as your Savior, but it’s not until the “extra step” of making Him Lord that you’re truly saved and God is pleased with you.

No one says it directly, but the message is that God’s in love with a future version of you that is finally more submissive. It’s nonsense. In fact, I’d go so far as to call it religious abuse.
