Google Killed AI-Generated Content, Don’t Let It Kill Your Campaigns!

If you're using GPT-3 and other content generators, this might be the time to revisit Google's Webmaster guidelines and review if your usage of AI-generated content is preventing your site from showing up in results on Google.com or any of Google's partner sites.

In an episode of the Google Search Central SEO office-hours hangout, John Mueller, Google's Search Advocate, took a stance against AI-generated content.

John said that content from GPT-3 and other content generators are still considered AI-generated content and would still be classified as spam. And all the information has been laid out in the Webmaster guidelines from the beginning.

As per the Google Search Central, AI-generated content include, but are not limited to:

- Text that makes no sense to the reader but which may contain search keywords.

- Text translated by an automated tool without human review or curation before publishing.

- Text generated through automated processes, such as Markov chains.

- Text generated using automated synonymizing or obfuscation techniques.

- Text generated from scraping Atom/RSS feeds or search results.

- Stitching or combining content from different web pages without adding sufficient value.
