9-vuotias Julie, 14-vuotias Renee ja 17-vuotias Rachel lähtivät viime hetken joululahjaostoksille 23. joulukuuta vuonna 1974, Fort Worthissa Texasissa. Tytöt eivät koskaan palanneet kotiin reissultaan ja heidän kohtalonsa on edelleen, 50 vuotta myöhemmin täysi mysteeri.
