People with dementia often report experiencing a loss of respect, dignity and autonomy. In this two-part episode the team talk with Talking Dementia Podcasters Heckle and Jeckle, two health professionals who have both been diagnosed with Early Onset Dementia.

Heckle and Jeckle talk with the team about the importance of respect, dignity and autonomy and discuss how GPs and others can support a person living with dementia continue to be themselves

Kimberley Indigenous Cognitive Assessment (KICA)
The Kimberley Indigenous Cognitive Assessment (KICA) was developed in response to the need for a cognitive screening tool for older Indigenous Australians (45 years plus) living in rural and remote areas. The KICA tool was named after where the original research was conducted and comprises of a number of sections and assesses the person and carer. The KICA tool is now widely used in remote or rural locations across Australia.
