Fired Federal Worker Talks Losing Her Job | Egg Consumers Look For Alternatives

Katie Sandlin thought she landed her dream job at the NIH as an educator. She spent her life savings to move from Alabama to just outside Washington, D.C. After only a few weeks on the job, she was terminated over poor performance claims, which she says are untrue, as the Trump administration slashes the federal workforce. Luigi Mangione, the man accused of gunning down UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, is expected to appear in a New York courtroom on Friday. The 26-year-old is charged with first degree murder. CBS News' Nikki Battiste has more. Amid the rising costs of eggs, some consumers are looking for alternatives. Across the country, some hatcheries said they're seeing more interest in buying chickens, but experts warn you may not save money.
