Pregnancy Training and Postpartum Recovery with Emma Pallant-Browne

Pregnancy Training and Postpartum Recovery with Emma Pallant-Browne

Katie and Kelly are joined by special guest, Emma Pallant-Browne for a discussion on athletes and pregnancy. Katie is checking in at 36 weeks and Emma is now at 26 weeks pregnant, and all three discuss the challenges of balancing training and family life—including the emotional and physical toll of pregnancy and postpartum recovery.

After a quick update on the latest races and results, they dive into everything pregnancy and postpartum as athletes:

  • Their current pregnancy training (or "exercising") adjustments
  • Balancing motherhood and training while pregnant
  • The highs and lows of returning postpartum
  • Setting realistic goals and having patience (something pro triathletes are not great at doing)
  • What to expect after birth (it ain't always pretty)

Most importantly, they stress building a community of support and trust for a safe and successful return to performance - whatever that looks like!
