Operation Unthinkable

Operation Unthinkable was a top-secret 1945 British plan, drafted by Winston Churchill, to potentially launch a surprise attack against the Soviet Union after World War II, aiming to push the Red Army back and force more favorable postwar terms in Europe. Though it never advanced beyond the planning stage, the operation revealed deep Western anxieties about Soviet intentions and the fragile alliance that had defeated Nazi Germany.
