1000 Women is a movement comprised of committed, powerful, and compassionate women who strive to remove barriers to education. By raising funds for initiatives that help students in need achieve their academic goals, 1000 Women provides the support necessary for learners to start and complete their education. From there, students can pursue thriving careers and embrace their own power and independence. Catherine Vu is one of the most recognizable entrepreneurs and community leaders in the city of Edmonton.

In 1997, Catherine Vu co-founded Pro-Active Computer Solutions, taking a risk as a women entrepreneur in a male-dominated sector. In 2003, Catherine bought out her partner, transforming the original company into Pro-Active IT Management Inc. The Pro-Active IT team continues to grow, building expertise on their quest for thought and action leadership in the information management industry.
