25-year-old John Rainwater and 22-year-old Lori Rainwater were a married couple just starting out. The couple had a 15-month-old daughter at home, and Lori had just got home from the hospital after delivering her son, who was just seven days old. The couple lived in Atascadero, CA and by all accounts, were a loving family with many friends. John and Lisa were Christians who managed an apartment complex at 8750 El Camino Real in Atascadero, a city with a population today of 29,000 and located in San Luis Obispo County. They worked hard to get their lives going and were excited about the future.
