An Iranian plane crashes into mountains, killing 66 people on board after leaving Tehran Airport. A new DHL Express hub in Brussles was opened today. The 140 million Euro investment is to quadraple regional capacity. Having identified the root cause of the PW 1100G problem, PW is commited to deliver the first engines incorporating the new fix by April 2018. Boeing and Oerlikon, a leading engineering and technology group, have signed a five year agreement that supports the creation of standard titanium additive manufacturing processes. Bruno Evens takes over as CEO for Airbus Helicopters. Airbus CEO Enders says he is optimistic that Evens' engineering and broad helicopter business knowlegde will lead Airbus Helicopters forward. Air Canada expects its joint venture with Air China to be concluded by Spring 2018. Air China suspends key North Korea route between Beijing and Pyongyang claiming the business was not good for service into isolated nation's capital. Meridiana has officially rebranded as Air Italy. The Carrier is to acquire three B737 MAXs and five A330-200s in 2018 and launch a codeshare with Qatar Airways. Avenue Capital, a New York based hedge fund, recently raised a US$600 million fund to buy aircraft. No aircraft types were disclosed yet. Fitch Ratings assigned ‘A’ long-term ratings to Boeing proposed issuance of US$1.4 billion of senior unsecured notes. The notes will be issued in four parts, with maturities of 2023, 2028, 2038, and 2048. Proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes, but Fitch believes this issuance could be considered a refinancing of debt maturing later in 2018. Ryan air takes delivery of one new 737-800 United Airlines, Air Canada, and Air Europa take delivery of 787-9s, Europa expecting 16 total of the type.
