With releases coming thick and fast this year, Israeli talent Maydan is riding something of a wave of popularity, topped off with a debut on Beat Boutique! Double-header Away/Burn Cloud comes with remixes from the luminary Murat Uncouglu and Michael A. In its original form, Away is floaty and otherworldly. Synthlines mingle from the off creating a warm textured bedrock for the crisp percussive drive to sit. Vocordered vocals add to the vibe of this summery crowd-pleaser. On the remix, Turkish dance pioneer Murat Uncuoglu turns in a powerful reditition smoothing out the bumps for a peak-time ride. Burn Cloud bursts into life from the first beat. Alive with energetic vigour, the melodies swirl as the shaker-led percussion ushers in layers of synth delicacies, growing into a tour de force in the second half. Belarusian, Michael A, fresh from his recently release on Sudbeat provides a wild remix focusing on sound design and creating a slightly off-kilter atmosphere perfect for those early mornings when the sun is still asleep.
