Thanks for listening to the Empire podcast. We are covering season one of the new hit Fox series, Empire before the highly anticipated season two begins. This episode covers episode one, the pilot. We meet the Lyons family, which is headed by Lucious Lyons. He is the head of the Empire music studio and has just announced he is taking the company public. We meet Cookie Lyon, who has just been released from jail after serving a long seventeen years. Followed by them are their three sons, Andre, Jamal, and Hakeem. Each brother wants to make their own path and become his own man, but will they have to drag each other down in order to make it to the top?
