The Unforgivable Sin

A recent caller to the radio program, Derek, asked if there’s such a thing as the unforgivable or unpardonable sin.

1 John 5:16 references a sin that leads to death. Jesus mentions in Matthew 12:31 every sin will be forgiven except for one. Does this mean eternal life can become temporary life? Are we saved from any sin imaginable, or all but one?
