Sexually Harassed in the Military

Guest Adreana shares what it is like being a woman in the military and the unique challenges that can occur, including the experience of sexual harassment. While significant progress has been made in recent years to address these issues, there are still obstacles that women in the military face such as gender discrimination, harassment, lack of reporting, isolation, mental health consequences, and more. As a young woman with a military background, the decision to join the armed forces might feel like a natural progression. There's a sense of pride in following in the footsteps of family members and contributing to the defense of one's nation. Despite these challenges, many women who grow up in a military background and serve in the armed forces exhibit incredible strength and resilience. They continue to persevere, driven by a deep sense of purpose, duty, and a commitment to breaking down barriers for future generations of women in the military.
