OpenAI in Talks for $100 Billion Funding Round

OpenAI is in talks to close a new funding round at a $100 billion valuation, which would be one of their biggest infusions of capital. They have already raised $86 billion and allowed employees to sell shares in the company. OpenAI is on track to lose about $5 billion by the end of the year, despite generating $3.4 billion in annualized revenue. They have burned $8.5 billion in AI training and staffing. Thrive Capital and Microsoft are expected to participate in the funding round, and there are rumors that Nvidia and Apple may also contribute.
