Former President Donald Trump was indicted by the Department of Justice's special counsel Jack Smith on Thursday June 8th, 2023. Special counsel Jack Smith, has been in charge of coordinating federal investigations related to former president. Trump was indicted with federal charges relating to the Mar-a-lago classified documents investigation resulting out of Trump's FBI Mar-a-lago resort August 8th, 2022 raid. This indictment has more potential to be a serious criminal charge & trial than Trump's Manhattan hush money scheme trial. According to CNN Trump is facing a charge under the Espionage Act as well as charges of obstruction of justice, destruction or falsification of records, and conspiracy & false statements. Former President Trump will appear in a federal court in Miami, Florida on Tuesday June 13th, 2023.
