Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery

Tonight's bedtime story for adults is Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery. This classic Canadian novel was published in 1908. It follows the adventures of Anne Shirley, a red haired orphan girl, mistakenly sent to the Cuthberts on Prince Edward Island. In this episode, Rachel Lynde, the Cuthberts' nosey neighbour, finds out that they are adopting a boy from an orphanage. Later, Matthew Cuthbert meets Anne and drives back with her to Green Gables.
