A man who refused a title, Lady Jane Grey's reprieve, and a naughty earl with a magic ring

Find out why. 9th February 1554 - Queen Mary I postpones Lady Jane Grey's scheduled execution and gives her a three-day reprieve. Her execution had already been postponed from 7th February, and in December 1553 it had appeared that Jane would be given mercy. What happened between December 1553 and February 1554?
