The Craigslist Killer: A Chilling Double Murder

Kevin Powell, a talented interior designer, and his partner Steven Adams, a registered nurse, had built a "rock-solid" life together over three decades, eventually settling into the welcoming queer community of Wilton Manors, Florida. Kevin, still recovering from a recent double organ transplant for severe diabetes, was looking forward to spending Christmas in Ohio with Steve's family.

However, the festive plans turned into a chilling mystery when the couple never arrived for their flight, failing to answer any calls or texts, which was completely out of character for them. Family members, thousands of miles away, were plunged into a "living nightmare," prompting a welfare check at their Wilton Manors home on December 26, 2010.

What police found inside was far from normal: an intense, strong smell of bleach permeated the house, leading officers to a horrifying discovery. Kevin and Steve's bodies were found wrapped in bleach-soaked blankets, bearing multiple gunshot wounds and blunt force trauma.
