On May 28, she vanished after leaving a hospital where she had taken a coworker for treatment—her car was later found burning in an alley, but she was nowhere to be found. For years, Dorothy’s family received chilling phone calls from an anonymous man who claimed to love her and admitted to killing her, revealing details only the killer could know. In 1984, her charred remains were discovered near Santa Ana Canyon Road, but the cause of death could not be determined.
