Holiday Gloom: The Murder of Sophie Toscan du Plantier

Two days before Christmas in 1996, the small town of Toormore in West Cork, Ireland, was rocked by the murder of Sophie Toscan du Plantier, the first murder in the area in almost four decades. Sophie, a French citizen, was checking on her vacation home with plans to return home to spend the holidays with her family. Instead, she was found brutally beaten to death outside of her home. Although the murder is still considered unsolved in Ireland, the French legal system found Ian Bailey guilty of her murder. Join us as Briana takes us through the details of the case and the differences between the Irish and French legal systems.
