We really take out the trash on this one. Our friend Jessica joins us to discuss some very frustrating themes in The Girl with a Pearl Earring and reinforce that feminist historical fiction is incredible - when done well. We talk about the pros and cons of young ScarJo and Colin Firth, and call on the powers of Patty Jenkins to remake this movie.   Episode Drink: The New Maid 2 oz Vodka ¾ oz Simple Syrup 1 oz fresh squeezed lime juice Small handful of mint leaves 3 slices of cucumber Add the cucumber and mint to the bottom of the cocktail shaker and muddle to release the fresh juices. Then fill with ice, Vodka, Simple Syrup, fresh squeezed lime. Give is a good shake then with a fine mesh strainer, strain into a rocks glass filled with ice.
