What Glory Awaits Us Upon Our Resurrection? In today’s age, we often do not recognize that the idea of resurrection was not obvious to the human race. It was not obvious, including by the people of God. The Jewish Sadducees, people who took care of the Temple in the time of Jesus, did not have a belief of resurrection of the dead. This is the issue that is raised in the Gospel reading. The Sadducees pose a question about the resurrection. Jesus does not play the game. We assume that in the resurrection, everything is the same. . . only better. Note what the Lord says! Do not make that mistake. Don’t assume that every aspect of life as we know it remains the same within the Glory of the Kingdom. Jesus tells us . . . it will still be you. However, the glory that waits for us is not identical to things here. It is important to realize this truth. We tend to reduce things to the familiar. God is beyond all of that. The life, and the greatness and the happiness that the Lord holds out for us . . . is beyond anything we can conceive and understand.
