How We Should Seek the Lord How We Should . . . The Gospel (and reading) is important to the Mysteries that will be revealed during Holy Week. In the reading (not included within this audio clip) the Jewish people are nearing the end of their time in the dessert. It’s been 40 years. They have grown tired and exhausted. The Jewish people are tired with the “manna from heaven”. They are experiencing frustration. In their frustration, they look backwards. They look at all the things they have to give up . . . and where did that get us? We are nowhere. Nothing grows in the dessert. Why are we here? Why bring us to a place where we will starve? It’s not the first time these things are said. However often the Lord has responded in the past . . . they forget and only see what is immediately in front of them. A wasteland. This states volumes about the human heart. Even today. During the season of Lent; we give things up. Many begin with enthusiasm within their heart. Often, this disappears . . . and we forget. We know we are moving to the victory of the Cross. But Lent can become a grind. We look forward to stopping whatever we have given up. Spiritually, we may be impacted. Here more in the audio. . . . Seek the Lord Israel assumes that the Lord’s intentions are not good for me. Have we ever experienced those feelings? The Israel experience once more a need for the Lord with the serpents. The Lord tells Moses what he must do to change the people’s heart . . .and to heal them. The pole reminds the people of what happens when the people ask to be left alone. We experience desperation when we ignore the Lord. Hear how this should influence our own spiritual life. Hear what happens when we are not with the Lord and do not have the Lord in our hearts. Listen to how we should seek the Lord. Listen to this Meditation Media.
