Isiah’s Experience With the Angels vs. Our Blessed Mother’s Experience In the first reading, the call of the prophet Isiah and the Annunciation story in the Gospel, the common theme is to wake-up. The Word must be heard by someone who is awake and alert. Isiah had a vision as the angels shouted Holy, Holy, Holy. Note how the Mass echoes those words.
