He is Here For You and Me! Divine worship is not ordinary and is important. While we gather at Church, our gathering is not the most important thing! The most important thing is Christ is our togetherness. The first reading happens in the later time in the prophet Jeremiah’s ministry. He speaks a word to the people . . . that no one wants to hear. He announces a word of warning . . . that destruction will come upon them . . . unless they change. The people and priests want to put Jeremiah to death. He doesn’t apologize for what he says. He speaks the truth that God has given him to speak. Hear more about its significance in the Homily! In the Gospel, king Herod hears about Jesus. Herod thinks Jesus must be John the Baptist. Herod killed John. He has no problem believing John was raised from the dead. While Herod has no problem believing this, his heart will not change. Our response to the Lord is important. Our response will never be perfect . . . but it must be a real one. Why is that important? Listen to this Meditation Media.
