Azad and Sumeet talk about their backgrounds in the advertising technology industry. They go on to explain what diversity means to each of them. For Azad, diversity means bringing different views and experiences to the table. The pair talk about the changes they’ve seen in the ad tech industry in terms of diversity in the last ten years. They also discuss diversity more generally in the ad tech space and how some companies are improving that business area. Sumeet and Azad also discuss how companies can work to become more diverse. One way they can do this is by investing in hiring paid specialists in the role. They also answer whether they believe a particular department should be responsible for diversity and inclusion. Sumeet says that while the role typically sits in the HR department, he believes hiring diversely should be considered by all departments throughout the business.
