French-Morrocan Leila Slimani is the author of the international bestseller The Perfect Nanny, which gave her the prestigious Prix Goncourt. She is also president Macron's personal representative for the promotion of French language and culture, and chair of the jury for the 2023 International Booker Prize. Slimani is also awarded for her commitment to woman's rights, and has asserted that "women all live in the land of others, for they live in the land of men". Her latest novels, In the Country of Others and Watch Us Dance, is the start of a trilogy based on her own family's roots in revolutionary Morocco.
