Autistic Child: Can A Smart Watch Actually Help?

Autistic Child: Can A Smart Watch Actually Help?

This use of a smart watch can help an autistic child in their day to day life, like this: Researchers in Boston USA have been working with a program they developed where they use a smart watch on an autistic child, and then text them videos or commands / instructions. The idea of this program is that, a parent or care giver can send the child a message or command to the watch that is very discrete so the child feels like they can still ‘fit in’ without forgetting to do something. This type of idea is a really good way to create confidence within an autistic child. Parents have started adopting this idea with some autistic children and are having excellent feedback. There are more apps and planners that can be loaded onto a smart watch also to help in areas like this, which are just changing the way autistic children interact with the world.
