Shirin Sinnar on Terrorism Law

Law professor Shirin Sinnar joins Outlaw to break down the terrorism laws and lists that everyone in liberation struggles needs to know about. Shirin speaks from her experience as a civil rights attorney representing people harmed by the racist post-9/11 counter-terrorism regime, and as a researcher of civil rights, political violence, racial justice, and national security.

Some highlights of the conversation include:

  • Domestic vs. international terrorism laws
  • Material support for terrorism laws and their repressive use
  • What's up with terrorism lists like the No-Fly List
  • The shifting application of terrorism laws in 2025 - targeting of migrants, Project Esther, Atl RICO 61 (Stop Cop City), and more
  • How the targeting of non-citizens will extend to everyone else

Check out Shirin's most recent article: The Real Threat of the Nonprofit "Terrorism" Provision in Trump's Big Bill and more of her work here.
