Nl: Het was een koude winteravond in New York.
En: It was a cold winter evening in New York.

Nl: Buiten lag er een dikke laag sneeuw en de lampjes van de kerstversieringen schitterden door de ramen.
En: Outside, there was a thick layer of snow, and the lights from the Christmas decorations shimmered through the windows.

Nl: Binnen zat Maarten, een Nederlandse uitwisselingsstudent, in een warme, gezellige woonkamer.
