Lv: Aleksandra sēž savā dzīvoklī Rīgā.
En: Aleksandra sits in her apartment in Rīgā.

Lv: Uz galda priekšā ir atvērts klēpjdators, no kura spīd silta gaisma.
En: On the table in front of her is an open laptop, emitting a warm light.

Lv: Blakus stāv mazs, rotāts Ziemassvētku eglīte, piepildot istabu ar svētku sajūtu.
En: Next to it stands a small, decorated Christmas tree, filling the room with a festive feeling.

Lv: Ir auksts ziemas vakars, un sniegs klāj ielas ārā.
En: It's a cold winter evening, and snow covers the streets outside.

Lv: Aleksandra domā par Jāni, kurš atrodas tālu Singapūrā.

Lv: Man ļoti pietrūkst kopīgā laika," viņa atzīstas, viegli sažņaudzot roku.
En: I really miss our time together," she admits, gently clasping her hand.

Lv: Viņi runā par ikdienas lietām, bet domās Aleksandra apsver, kā pacelt tēmu par Jauno gadu.
En: They talk about everyday things, but in her mind, Aleksandra is considering how to bring up the topic of the New Year.

Lv: Jānis aizņemts ar darbu Singapūrā, un viņas sirds ilgojas pēc viņa tuvuma.
En: Jānis is busy with work in Singapūrā, and her heart longs for his closeness.

Lv: Bet viņa zina arī to, cik viņam svarīgs ir darbs.
En: But she also knows how important his work is to him.

Lv: "Es tiešām gribēju atrast veidu, kā pavadīt Jauno gadu kopā," beidzot saka Aleksandra.
En: "I really wanted to find a way to spend the New Year together," Aleksandra finally says.

En: "I know, I would want that too," he says.

Lv: "Bet šoreiz ir tik grūti atrast laiku.
En: "But it's so hard to find time this time."

Lv: "Aleksandra savāc drosmi.
En: Aleksandra gathers her courage.

Lv: "Varbūt varam sarīkot mazu virtuālu ceremoniju?
En: "Maybe we can have a small virtual ceremony?

Lv: Skaitīt līdz pusnaktij, izteikt vēlēšanās un kopā sapņot par nākotni?
En: Count down to midnight, make wishes, and dream about the future together?"

Lv: "Jānis smaida.
En: Jānis smiles.

Lv: "Man tas patīk.
En: "I like that.

Lv: Varbūt pat varam cept piparkūkas katrs savās mājās un kopīgi pacelt glāzes.
En: Maybe we can even bake gingerbread cookies each in our own homes and toast together.

Lv: Arī tas ir kaut kas.
En: That's something too."

Lv: "Tā viņi plāno savu īpašo vakaru.
En: So they plan their special evening.

Lv: Jaunā gada priekšvakarā Aleksandra savā mājīgajā istabā un Jānis tālu prom Singapūrā ielej dzērienus, sūta viens otram attēlus ar ceptajām piparkūkām un skaita sekundes līdz pusnaktij.
En: On New Year's Eve, Aleksandra in her cozy room and Jānis far away in Singapūrā pour drinks, send each other pictures of the baked gingerbread cookies, and count the seconds to midnight.

Lv: "Trīs, divi, viens.
En: "Three, two, one...

Lv: Laimīgu Jauno gadu!
En: Happy New Year!"
