A Shadow on Surveillance: The Jennifer Kesse Case

On the morning of January 24, 2006, Jennifer Kesse didn’t show up for work.
Her phone went straight to voicemail.
Her car was missing.
And within hours, her life — and her case — would become frozen in time.

What followed was an investigation filled with unsettling contradictions: security footage that captured a suspect but hid their identity, evidence that was abundant yet inconclusive, and early missteps that may have cost investigators their best chance at answers. Jennifer didn’t vanish without leaving traces — she vanished despite them.
