Katie's Year In Recovery (Reheat)

We follow one woman's attempt to recover from an eating disorder and hear what it’s like to wake up each morning and have to fight a battle not only with food, but more importantly, with yourself. It's a rare look inside one person’s struggle. We also hear from her husband and explore her decision, early in recovery, to become a baker.

If anything this episode sounds familiar, you can get more information and help from the National Eating Disorders Association online, or by calling their helpline: 1-800-931-2237. For 24/7 crisis support, text 'NEDA' to 741741.

This episode originally aired on January 15, 2018, and September 23, 2020, and was produced by Dan Pashman, Anne Saini, Emma Morgenstern, and Andres O'Hara, with editing by Margaret Kelley, Peter Clowney, and Tracey Samuelson, and engineering by Andrea Kristinsdottir. The Sporkful team now includes Dan Pashman, Emma Morgenstern, Andres O'Hara, Kameel Stanley, and Jared O'Connell. This update was produced by Gianna Palmer.
