Ep 79- Grammy Nominated Harpist Kirsten Agresta-Copely Talks Broadway, Her Album, & More!

Internationally acclaimed harpist and composer Kirsten Agresta-Copely recently released her highly anticipated New Age album, Aquamarine. Inspired by her deep connection with the ocean and imbued with memories of her late mother, this album is a heartfelt homage to the woman who ignited Kirsten's passion for both music and the sea. It represents a profound moment of artistic expression and personal reflection – intertwining the power of the ocean, the beauty of her mother's memory, and the boundless depths of Kirsten’s own artistic vision. Nomination quote from Kirsten Agresta-Copely: “My team and I are over the moon happy and honored to be nominated for a GRAMMY® Award for my album Aquamarine. This is the first full length album recorded in our newly built studio, Casa Copely Recording, and we are so pleased to have this honor from The Recording Academy.” Aquamarine is Kirsten’s second New Age album, and is already the winner of the 2023 Global Music Award for “Outstanding New Age Performance.” According to Classical Crossover, Aquamarine is “a brilliant music tribute…Kirsten captures the mood so perfectly, you can almost hear the seagulls in the distance. The album is delightfully unrushed, with the aimless exploration of plucked notes and arpeggios that you might expect on a holiday or, for those of us stuck grudgingly at work, a montage to play memories of happier days.” New Age Music Guide cites: “This unique voyage into the deep blue sea feels significant, timeless, and heartfelt.” After recording and mixing the album in Brooklyn, New York, Kirsten declared, “It was healing for me to record the compositions that were created throughout my mother’s prolonged decline and transition. I consider myself fortunate to have the ability to create within a secure and safe space, where I can breathe new life into melodies that bring solace to my spirit. My hope is for listeners to experience the therapeutic power inherent in both music and the ocean.” About Kirsten Agresta-Copely An international award-winning harpist and composer, Kirsten Agresta-Copely is hailed for her charismatic, telegenic presence on stage and known as the industry’s go-to harpist in the recording studio.
