Brad puts his biggest week on the comeback trail and gets super inspired by the weekend. Julian puts his finishing touches on his Osaka Marathon prep then coaches Ellie from the sidelines. Brady races a deep field in the Golden Ticket Race, then makes Saturday the new Sunday.

The eve of the World Cross Country Championships held the Golden Ticket Races, with the first seven finishers of the 6km race given the opportunity to race in the World Champion Race, Sarah Klein and Andre Waring taking top honours. Andre was subsequently placed in the Australia team with Matt Ramsden withdrawing due to injury. Golden Ticket Race Results

On a mostly hot Saturday afternoon over a tough 2km course set on Mount Panorama/Wahluu, Bathurst the World Cross Country Championships returned after two years of delays. The day opened with the Mixed 4x2km Relay, where the highly-fancied Australian team of Oli Hoare, Jess Hull, Stewy McSweyn and Abby Caldwell took the bronze medal Kenya and Ethiopia took Gold and Silver respectively. The U20 Women race saw a race of attrition as the hot weather and 6k course took a toll on the competitors with three Australians withdrawing from the race. Aspen Anderson was the top Australian, while the race was won by Senayet Getachew of Ethiopia. U20 Women World Athletics Report U20 Women World Athletics Results The U20 Men saw a Japanese pair lead the main pack in the first lap, with Ishmael Kipkirui of Kenya winning the 8km race. Archie Noakes first Australian in 17th and the team scored sixth place.

Open Women saw Leanne Pompeani run off the lead pack, before Ellie Pashley ascended through the pack to finish as first Australia. Letesenbet Gidey stumbled and fell metres from the finish line after leading in the final stages, subsequently disqualified after receiving assistance to get back up as Beatrice Chebet of Kenya outkicked her to be crowned the new champion. Tsigie Gebreselama of Ethiopia was second, with Agnes Ngetich of Kenya third. Australia placed fourth in the team results:

Ky Robinson ran a smart race to finish as first Australian, while Australia placed fourth in the team results:

Brad eases back after his half marathon win last week. Brady needs another gear as a parent helper at his son’s Kindergarten.   Haftu Strintzos pops onto the show for a brief chat about taking out the 10000m Oceania Athletic Championships in Fiji, as well as his time racing and studying in the NCAA with Villanova University and his long-term relationship with coach Craig Mottram.   Haftu Strintzos won the Oceania Athletic Champs 10000m final in 29:17.97 with Andre Waring second and Joshua Phillips third. Dave McNeill won the 5000m in 14:02.23, with Haftu second in 14:08.03. Jenny Blundell won the 5000m in 15:26.29, with Holly Campbell second in 15:31.88 and Maudie Skyring third in 15:49.39. Amy Cashin won the 3000m Steeplechase in 9:41.54, Cara Feain-Ryan and Stella Radford making it a clean sweep on the podium. It was a similar story on the men’s side, with Matt Clarke taking the 3000m Steeplechase title in 8:31.00, with Ben Buckingham and Ed Trippas taking the respective medals. Carley Thomas won silver in the women’s 800m, while Peyton Craig edged out Luke Boyes in the Men’s 800m with Jack Lunn taking the bronze. Oceania Athletics Championships Results   Ky Robinson placed third in the NCAA Outdoor Championships 5000m final, running 13:27.79 behind winner Nico Young and Parker Wolfe. Adam Spencer scored silver in the Men’s Mile 4:01.92 behind winner Luke Houser, while Hayley Kitching ran 2:02.16 in the 800m Final. NCAA Track and Field Championships Results   European Championships featured Jakob Ingebrigsten cruising to victory in the 5000m. The findings strip him of his results dating as far back as 2018, which include his 10k Road World Record set in Valencia 2020. Brady goes through his paces before a hit out at the Lakeside 10.   Georgia Griffith set a new 3000m National Record of 8:24.20 in her second ever race in the distance, taking the win at the Bislett Games Oslo Diamond League over Likina Amebaw of Ethiopia. Jess Hull placed third in 8:25.82, Rose Davies ran a personal best of 8:35.57, while Lauren Ryan ran 8:42.63. Catriona Bisset closed strongly to claim third place in the 800m with 1:59.29. Oli Hoare solidified his form in the 1500m with a 3:31.08 while Stewy McSweyn 3:38.22 after taking a midrace stumble. Jakob Ingebrigsten took out the race in front of the home crowd in a World Leading 3:29.74, diving across the line in a close finish against the returning Timothy Cheruiyot. Hagos Gebrhiwet broke the Ethiopian National Record in the 5000m in 12:36.73 for the second fastest of all time, ahead of countryman Yomif Kejelcha and with a total of 6 new national records set in that race. Oslo Diamond League Results   Georgia Griffith kept the momentum going with a 3:59.17 to place third in the Stockholm Diamond League 1500m with Laura Muir taking the win in 3:57.99. Linden Hall ran 4:01.01 and Sarah Billings ran 4:10.21. Stewy McSweyn picked up a 7:36.78 in the 3000m, won by Narve Nordas of Norway in 7:33.49.
