Lv: Tas bija auksts februāra rīts.
En: It was a cold February morning.

Lv: Zeme bija klāta ar svaigi uzkritis sniegu.
En: The ground was covered with freshly fallen snow.

Lv: Vecpilsētas šaurās ielas izskatījās pasakaini.
En: The narrow streets of the old town looked magical.

Lv: Jānis un Ieva gāja pa ielu uz skolu.
En: Jānis and Ieva were walking down the street to school.

Lv: Abi vilkušies vilnas šallēs.
En: Both wrapped in wool scarves.

Lv: Mazu mirdzošu veikalu logi spīdēja kā Ziemassvētku lampiņas.

En: Jānis' heart filled with joy.
