El: Η Ελένη περπατούσε στις στενές, πετρόστρωτες οδούς της Πλάκας, μιας γειτονιάς στις καρδιές της Αθήνας.
En: I Eleni was walking through the narrow, cobbled streets of Plaka, a neighborhood in the heart of Athens.

El: Ο αέρας ήταν πνιγηρός με τις μυρωδιές από φρέσκα γλυκά.
En: The air was heavy with the scent of fresh sweets.

El: Η γοητεία της περιοχής την καθησύχασε.
En: The charm of the area reassured her.

El: Πλάι της, η Σοφία, μια παλιά της φίλη, γεμάτη πάθος για ελληνικές περιπέτειες, έδειχνε τη μία παραδοσιακή βιτρίνα μετά την άλλη.
En: Next to her, Sophia, an old friend filled with passion for Greek adventures, was pointing out one traditional shop window after another.

El: "Ελένη, πρέπει οπωσδήποτε να δοκιμάσουμε γλυκά από το ζαχαροπλαστείο του Νίκο", είπε η Σοφία, δείχνοντας ένα μικρό, ταπεινό κατάστημα.

El: Εκεί, πίσω από τον πάγκο, ο Νίκος χαμογελούσε.
En: There, behind the counter, Nikos was smiling.

El: Η Ελένη ένιωσε μια ελαφριά αγωνία.

El: Ήθελε να αγοράσει γλυκά, αλλά δίσταζε.

El: "Μην ανησυχείς," είπε η Σοφία "θα σε βοηθήσω με τα ελληνικά αν χρειαστείς.

El: Αλλά ο Νίκος είναι φιλικός.
En: But Nikos is friendly."

El: "Η Ελένη πήρε βαθιά ανάσα και προχώρησε.
En: I Eleni took a deep breath and moved forward.

El: "Καλημέρα", είπε με τρέμουλο.
En: "Good morning," she said with a tremble.

El: "Καλημέρα, κορίτσια!
En: "Good morning, girls!

El: Τι θα θέλατε σήμερα;
En: What would you like today?"

El: " απάντησε ο Νίκος.
En: apantise o Nikos.

El: "Θα ήθελα κάτι παραδοσιακό," είπε η Ελένη, χαμογελώντας δειλά.
En: "I would like something traditional," eípe i Eleni, smiling shyly.

El: Ο Νίκος σκέφτηκε για λίγο.
En: O Nikos thought for a moment.

El: "Να σου συστήσω τα μελομακάρονα και τους κουραμπιέδες.
En: "May I suggest ta melomakarona and tous kourabiedes.

El: Αλλά, έχω και κάτι ιδιαίτερο, μια δική μου συνταγή.
En: But I also have something special, my own recipe."

El: "Η περιέργεια της Ελένης ξύπνησε.
En: I periergeia tis Elenis xýpnise.

El: Δοκίμασε το γλυκό που της πρότεινε ο Νίκος και ένιωσε μια έκρηξη γεύσης με ένα μυστικό συστατικό.
En: She tried the sweet that o Nikos recommended and felt a burst of flavor with a secret ingredient.

El: "Τι είναι αυτό το ιδιαίτερο άρωμα;

El: Στον δρόμο πίσω, η Σοφία υποσχέθηκε να της κάνει μαθήματα ελληνικών.
En: On the way back, Sophia promised to give her Greek lessons.
