Today, I want to invite you into a practice of sensory exploration with your food. Imagine eating not just as nutrition, but as a rich, complex experience of discovery. Before your next meal, take three intentional breaths. Place your hand on your stomach and feel the anticipation, the gentle hunger rising. When you begin eating, slow down. Really slow down. Hold a piece of food - maybe an apple slice or a spoonful of rice - and first observe it completely. Notice its color, its texture. Run your fingers across its surface. Feel its weight in your hand. Bring it close and smell its aroma - what memories or feelings emerge? Take the smallest bite possible. Let it rest on your tongue. What flavors unfold? Is it sweet, sharp, subtle? Notice how the texture changes as you slowly chew.
