Day 19 The Worn Out Shoes

Day 19 The Worn Out Shoes

DAY 19 — THE WORN-OUT SHOES

A marathon runner kept an old pair of shoes on a shelf.
They were torn, dusty, and nearly falling apart.

A friend asked,
“Why do you keep these? They’re useless now.”

The runner smiled and said,
“Every tear is a reminder
that I kept running
even when it hurt.
These shoes carried victories
I never thought I’d reach.”

He touched the worn soles gently,
and his friend suddenly understood—
they were not useless.
They were testimony.

Your spiritual life has worn-out shoes:
prayers you whispered through tears,
fasts you didn’t want to do,
forgiveness that took all your strength,
moments you kept going
when quitting was easier.

Lent is not only about repentance—
it’s about remembering the perseverance
that brought you this far.

Worn shoes are signs of holy endurance.
You didn’t give up.
You kept walking.
And God noticed every step.
