Across countries and childhood bedrooms, a tall shadow in a top hat appears to watch, threaten, protect, or possibly feed. This is one of the most infamous figures in paranormal lore: the Hat Man. After ghostly handprints appear on a late night train ride, a top hatted shadow follows a family home, and eventually getting physical.
