Day 26 The Key that Didn't Fit

Day 26 The Key that Didn't Fit

DAY 26 — THE KEY THAT DIDN’T FIT

A woman tried to open an old shed behind her house.
She pushed the key in,
turned it left,
then right—
but it wouldn’t open.

Annoyed, she called a locksmith.
When he arrived,
he examined the door and said,
“Ma’am, it’s good the key didn’t fit.
This lock is rusted from inside.
If it had opened,
the whole door might have collapsed on you.”

She stared at the door, shocked—
what she thought was rejection
had been protection.

Sometimes God closes doors
you try desperately to open:
relationships,
opportunities,
dreams,
jobs,
plans.

You grow frustrated:
“Why won’t this open for me?”

But God sees the rust
on the other side.
He blocks certain paths
not to punish you,
but to protect you.

Lent invites you to trust
the closed doors.
Some locks save your life.
