Healing sexual trauma can be very confusing and complex. There are so many mixed messages about sexuality, especially in the media. Sexual energy is one of the most powerful energies on the planet, and two people had sex for you to come forth.

It’s not always even about the act of sex itself that causes sexual trauma; it might be how you look at it, how you relate to yourself, or how your culture talks about it. It is not even about great sex or long orgasms, but it’s about the gift of the connection, the mystery, and the movement of the energy flowing.

The collective epidemic that we all carry as a society is suppressing sexuality in so many ways and giving us mixed messages. This creates such a significant dissonance between women on how they should feel about their sexuality and pleasure. We all have to go through that inquiry of what we carry from society or our mother, father, and lineage.

If traditional talk therapy is all in the head and sexual wounding is in the body, just talking about it will not necessarily heal it, as you cannot heal anything through the mind only; it needs to come through the body-mind connection. It has to be somatic.

The negative experience itself is not typically what creates the trauma but more how you process it. So, how can you rewire your story? How can you create a new healthy narrative?
