#344 - EMBERING EFFIGY - OUT OF THE WOODS Album Review

“Let’s keep the dumb fuhqery to a minimum today…”

EMBERING EFFIGY, the “Southern Fried Thrash Metal” threesome hailing from the outskirts of Atlanta, Georgia are making some noise in venues all across the Southeast with their blistering live shows and their recently released new album, OUT OF THE WOODS, featuring 8 tracks of old school thrash infused with a generous blend of blast beats, high energy punk, filthy breakdowns, and even some old school “mosh parts” for good measure. There’s enough fast stuff, heavy stuff, and sick stuff on this album to give anyone who hears it a complete stank face makeover.

We recently had a chance to hang out with EMBERING EFFIGY and do a full playthrough of OUT OF THE WOODS (deep within the insulated walls of Bunkerpoon Studios), including some track by track insights from the band as well as some Q&A about their history, their live shows, and of course the new album and everything that went into making it (along with some ultra hilarious vulgarity that’s too obscene to be mentioned here).

If you haven’t seen EMBERING EFFIGY live as of yet (or if you ‘blacked out’ only three songs into their set like ‘some people’…), they are definitely one of those bands you must experience extremely LOUD and LIVE, so if you need something to tide you over until you can catch one of their shows, pick up OUT OF THE WOODS and crank it up to 11!
