Pb: O sol brilhava suavemente sobre o Jardim Botânico do Rio de Janeiro.
En: The sun shone gently over the Jardim Botânico do Rio de Janeiro.

Pb: Era Páscoa, e as palmeiras altas lançavam sombras longas no chão.
En: It was Easter, and the tall palm trees cast long shadows on the ground.

Pb: Rafa e Lia caminhavam lado a lado, enquanto o som dos pássaros enchia o ar.
En: Rafa and Lia walked side by side, as the sound of birds filled the air.

Pb: Rafa olhou para Lia, seus olhos tentando decifrar o que a encantava tanto naquilo tudo.
En: Rafa looked at Lia, his eyes trying to decipher what enchanted her so much about all of this.

Pb: Ele ensaiou um sorriso confiante e lançou, "Você sabia que essa árvore aí é uma... é... uma rara... planta tropical?
En: He rehearsed a confident smile and launched, "Did you know that this tree there is a... is... a rare... tropical plant?

Pb: Muito difícil de encontrar."
En: Very hard to find."

Pb: Lia, com um sorriso travesso, respondeu, "Ah, é mesmo?
En: Lia, with a mischievous smile, replied, "Oh, really?

Pb: Parece mais uma palmeira imperial pra mim."
En: It looks more like an imperial palm to me."

Pb: Rafa riu, nervoso.
En: Rafa laughed, nervously.

Pb: A caminhada continuava e não demorou muito para ele tentar novamente.
En: The walk continued and it didn't take long for him to try again.

Pb: Enquanto passavam por uma planta com flores vermelhas, Rafa arriscou, "Veja essas flores.
En: As they passed by a plant with red flowers, Rafa ventured, "Look at these flowers.

En: They are known as Brazilian roses.

Pb: São extremamente raras!"
En: They're extremely rare!"

Pb: Lia riu, "Na verdade, são hibiscos.
En: Lia laughed, "Actually, they're hibiscuses.

Pb: A cada nova planta que encontravam, Lia desafiava Rafa com um brilho de diversão nos olhos.
