Kendra Duggar Is Protecting Joseph — Not Her Children

A man allegedly facing life felonies for what he did to a child spent a recorded jailhouse phone call asking about cleaning schedules, app notifications, and whether to sell a tool trailer. Joseph Duggar is managing a vacation rental from solitary confinement — while somewhere, a child carries what he allegedly did to her for the rest of her life.

That’s not the only thing on these calls. He’s also building himself a redemption arc. He chose the Book of Ruth — the story of an outcast shown mercy. He told Kendra it encouraged him. He switched Bible translations because the old one wasn’t working. He prayed for hours. And in all of it — across every recorded call from Washington County — he never once mentioned the child he allegedly harmed. Not a prayer. Not a name. Not a thought.

He told Kendra he’s upset to be “in this situation.” He told her their faith was “tainted by the people around us.” He framed the crisis as something done to them, not something he allegedly did to a child. And Kendra — 27 years old, facing her own charges, coordinating family logistics with full competence — told him everybody loves him and warned him to watch what they say.

Joseph skipped Matthew 18:6 — where Jesus said anyone who harms a child would be better off drowned with a millstone. Jim Bob allegedly built the system that taught Joseph to confess, apologize, and expect forgiveness. That system reportedly got him arrested. The same machine that produced Josh produced Joseph. And the God Joseph claims is comforting him already said whose side He’s on.
