Trickster Magic with Mercury-Jupiter in Gemini: Weekly Astrology for June 2 - 8

The astrology this week brings some trickster energy with Mercury making several aspects and changing signs. There are several themes around shifts in perspective that seem like a natural unfolding following the New Moon in Gemini last week. This week elaborates on the last and simultaneously shows themes of expansion, as well as stabilizing and rooting into what’s next. The astrology this week includes:

First Quarter Moon in Virgo: on Monday, June 2 at 8:41pm PT, this is an opening square aspect of the Moon and Sun, signaling a time of coming up against conflicting ideas or areas of focus. The Sun in Gemini and Moon in Virgo are both ruled by the trickster planet Mercury. You’re being called to be flexible, to shift your focus, and use discernment.

Venus in Aries sextile Jupiter in Gemini: A spark of creative joy is available to you when you pay attention.

Venus moves into Taurus: on Thursday, June 5 at 9:42pm PT. Venus will be in Taurus for about a month, until July 4th. Venus in Taurus is a time of rooting into what you love, strengthening your values, finding pleasure, and seeking a greater sense of meaning in your joy. Venus’ movement into Taurus also initiates its square to Pluto, which brings intensity and depth to matters of love, relationships, beauty, and social activities. Venus-Pluto calls us to reach for deeper intimacy in our relationships, and in ourselves.

Mercury in Gemini sextile Mars in Leo + sextile Chiron in Aries: There is trickster energy here as well! You may be called to seek out new information that is healing or helps you find peace around a challenging situation.

Mercury in Gemini conjunct Jupiter in Gemini: Expanding your awareness, lots of ideas, and exploring new things. You may find yourself having many big visions for the future. These ideas may arise from within you, from dreams, or via suggestions from others. Allow your mind to flow, capture as much as you can, and know that you can sort through things over the coming year (because this aspect is like an annual “new moon” phase for Mercury and Jupiter).

Mercury moves into Cancer: on Sunday, June 8 at 3:58pm PT. Mercury will be in Cancer for about 3 weeks, until June 27th. Because Cancer is a cardinal sign and because Mercury just made a conjunction to Jupiter, this marks a point of initiating new ideas, a new perspective, and new ways of thinking. And, these ideas and perspectives are informed by feeling and intuition. There’s also a slow, steady, and determined pace (because Mercury is also now making a square to Saturn).

Mars in Leo opposite Pallas in Aquarius: Feeling passionate and called to action! This is a very dynamic-feeling transit and could be channeled toward crafty or creative activities, physical movement, advocacy work, being direct and strategic about a boundary, or embracing your anger and agitation in any way that feels right for you! This aspect is all about advocation, protection, and moving your energy either physically or energetically.
