Grandma Traveled Where?! | A Conversation with World Traveler.. and Grandma, Jeanne Roppolo

Join host Nathan Stahr on this episode of Along the Rock as he sits down with traveler and author Jeanne Roppolo to discuss the incredible real-life adventures behind her “Grandma Goes To” book series.

From working as a janitor in Antarctica at McMurdo Station to living in Hawaii for 14 years and visiting a remote private island in the South Pacific, Jeanne shares how simple conversations completely changed the course of her life. She talks about surviving Antarctica’s brutal cold, meeting people from around the world, witnessing breathtaking landscapes, and turning those unforgettable experiences into books for both children and adults.

The episode also explores how her stories have inspired students, sparked curiosity about the world, and encouraged readers to embrace adventure wherever it may lead.

Watch now to hear how one spontaneous idea led to a lifetime of travel and storytelling.
