Alvin Bragg finally caught his white (supremacist) whale. The unthinkable has happened: Donald Trump has found himself in a legal storm that no amount of hush money can silence. In an age where cynicism is more abundant than hope, this verdict feels like a much-needed, surprising relief. As you and all the world know by now, Trump has been found guilty in the election interference case, a landmark decision brought by the ever-persistent Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, who has sued Trump around 100 times in his long career of public service. Trump now faces 136 years in prison, four years for each of the 34 felony counts, and will be sentenced on July 11 by a steely Judge Juan Merchan, who has endured death threats and other harassment against him and his family.

It's okay to celebrate and to also mourn all that's been taken from us, including countless lives, by Trump and his family stealing the 2016 election, backed by their goon squad and the Kremlin in a transnational conspiracy.
